The steilsteven Bonte Piet, one of the very last sailing cargo boats, was built in 1926 in Hogezand. At that time she carried mainly sugar beet and other agricultural products from the north of the Netherlands to the Zaan area and to Amsterdam. At the end of her working life she was converted to a sail charter ship.
With her shallow draft, good sailing qualities and experienced crew she is one of the stars of the Wadden Sea. It is a wonderful experience, standing at the helm of this ship, feeling the twists in the channels of the Wadden Sea with the eternal flow of the tides in the most beautiful area of Europe.
The ship is suitable for groups up to 12 people, sailing the Wadden Sea, IJsselmeer and inland waterways. The guest accommodation is spacious and airy, the galley fully equipped. There is hot and cold water, a shower and a toilet, and 24volt electricity.
What else is on board:
Refrigerator
Stove and oven
Ship’s Library
Children’s lifejackets
Audi/no USB
