A sailing ship with a past! In 1899 the Johanna Christina was launched. She was then only 24 metres long and had only one mast. The ship carried freight over the Dutch canals, first under sail and later with an engine.
She was twice lengthened to reach her current length of 36 metres.
In 1990 the ship was converted to a modern, comfortable and sporty passenger sailing ship. Her name was changed to Actief, so that she always carries with her the memories of an active past.
Below decks you will find a large comfortable saloon and a complete, luxury kitchen with beer tap, fridges and a good cooker.
There are three showers and three toilets on board. The six two person-, two 1-person- and the four four person cabins all have washbasins with cold running water and optional duvets.
In principle you can go anywhere, after consultation with the skipper, and dependant, of course, on the winds and tide.
Welcome aboard the sailing klipper Actief.

Arnoud has been sailing the Actief with our fleet since February 2019. He lives with his wife Britta and son Bram and daughter Lena. In the summer months, he very much enjoys sailing the Wadden and IJsselmeer and giving all his guests a wonderful holiday feeling. Besides sailing, Arnoud also really enjoys motorbike riding. You see, wind, speed, freedom; the forces of nature are wasted on Arnoud.
