Sailing and cycling tour on the Frans Horjus

Enjoy a feeling of freedom, tranquillity, relaxation and activity. During this trip everything will be arranged for you. You are only required to do the cycling yourself. You can cycle in a group, as a couple or alone. Short or long distances, everything is possible during this trip, sailing and cycling are the goal. Save yourself the stress of transporting your luggage by bike and also the daily search for accommodation. You will experience beautiful landscapes and the magic of the Wadden Sea and the IJsselmeer. Come on board and experience the perfect mix of relaxation and active recreation on a bicycle.

Day 1: Friday embark at 20:00 hrs. Dinner and overnight stay on board.
Day 2: After a briefing on board we sail out of the harbour, hoist the sails and sail to the island of Terschelling. Arrived in West Terschelling you can explore the harbour town and its surroundings.
Day 3: Today you will cycle over the beautiful island of Terschelling. You will cycle through forest and dune landscape along the North Sea coast via West aan Zee, Midsland aan Zee, Formerum aan Zee to Oosterend. From there you will cycle over cycle paths through the dune landscape to Midsland and/or on the Wadden Sea side back to West-Terschelling. On the way there is time to go to the beach or a museum or just enjoy a cup of coffee in a restaurant.
Day 4: Today you sail in about 2-3 hours to the island of Vlieland. After lunch you can get on your bike and cycle past the lighthouse and the Posthuis. In the afternoon there will be enough time to stroll through the village.
Day 5: This day we make the crossing from Vlieland to Texel. During the 6-7 hour sailing trip you can help hoist the sails, steer the ship or learn to read a nautical chart. Depending on your arrival time there will be time to get to know Texel.
Day 6: Today you will cycle around the island of Texel with the villages Oosterend, further north to De Cocksdorp, the village De Koog on the North Sea side, Den Burg, Den Hoorn and from there back to the harbour of Oudeschild.
Day 7: Only 1 day on Texel is simply too short to get to know the island. That is why we stay another day. Today we will cycle to the nature reserve of the Slufter or the Horspolders. In Oudeschild the boat will be waiting for you and in the afternoon we will make the crossing (approx. 3 hours) to the harbour town of Den Oever (mainland).
Day 8: We sail back to Harlingen along the Afsluitdijk.  Around 3 pm we will be back in Harlingen.

Price from €. 749,- (differs per cabin on board). Includes: full board, welcome drink, bed linen and one-time towel set, route maps, daily bike/travel briefings, harbour fees, fuel.
