One day sailing and dry land on the Wadden Sea

Our 24-hour sailing and dry land on the Wadden Sea is the ultimate introduction to historic ships on the Wadden Sea. After these 24 hours on one of our ships, it feels like you have been away for at least a long weekend. Sailing, falling dry, guided mudflat hiking, sleeping at sea, delicious food. This trip has it all. Even if you have sailed many times before, this trip remains a wonderful opportunity to escape from everyday life for a while.

Tip: this introduction to sailing is also ideal as a gift.

The program of a day on the Wadden Sea

Landlubber, note: a ship sails where the wind takes her. The program below is just an example. The exact program will be determined on board according to the tide.

You are welcome aboard the ship just after noon. Once you have embarked, a delicious lunch will be waiting for you.
We have a full program, so set sail quickly to reach the sandbank in time! Meet your fellow travelers along the way, have another cup of coffee and enjoy the sea breeze on your face.

Then the captain casts anchor, seemingly in the middle of nowhere, but wait and see! As the cook prepares dinner, you will see the sea floor become visible. When everyone has eaten their fill and you are back on deck, you will suddenly see that the water is almost gone! Time to go exploring. The Wadden guide is on board and will take you on a discovery walk across the sea floor. What treasures will you find? We bet you didn’t know how many special things are in the sand.

When you return from the wading tour, you will see that the water is already rising. Hurry aboard! At nightfall, of course, refreshments will be on the table and you can have a drink with them. Will there be stars to see tonight? As long as you keep quiet, it can be as late as you want. After which you can fall asleep in your cabin contentedly.

By the time you wake up, the ship will have long been floating again. After a hearty breakfast, it is time to get to work! We have to return to Harlingen and the sailor needs help. Those who want may help hoist, put on and celebrate the sails while the skipper sets course for the harbor. By noon, the sail is stowed and the ship sails quietly into the harbor. You won’t find more vacation in so little time anywhere!

The care

During this trip, you will enjoy full board. All meals and snacks will be provided for you by the cook. To enable him/her to conjure great dishes from the galley, he/she will occasionally need your help with preparation and washing up. Water, tea, coffee and milk are included. Soft drinks, lemonade, beer and wine can be purchased by the glass at reasonable prices.

You will stay in a cabin with bunk bed, mirror and wash basin. The bed is already made for you and towels are provided. You can be assigned to a cabin with one fellow traveller of the same sex. If you book with more than one person, we will of course assign you with them. Showers and toilets are shared with all passengers. The common room has ample seating, books and games. On some ships you will find a sound system and/or musical instrument.

The price also includes final cleaning and insurance from the Package Travel Guarantee Scheme.
