Excelsior 18 pers.

The Hasselteraak Excelsior was built in 1901 at the Mittendorf yard in Dedemsvaart as a sturdy freighter. This fast ship carried freight until the late 1950s. She then vanished from view. She reappeared in 1979, however, minus her mast and sails, and was later converted to a houseboat.

In 1996 she was lovingly restored to the speedy sailing ship she once had been. After using her privately for two years her then owner transformed her during the winter of 1998/99 into the charter ship she now is.

In spite of all the work over the last few years Excelsior has maintained her authentic character, combining this with the comfort of spacious cabins, excellent showers and toilets, a fully fitted galley and comfortable saloon.

Chris and Jana Buck, since 2004 the enthusiastic young owners of this special ship, would like to welcome you on board and hope to share a sailing adventure with you.
